Our Commitment to Inclusion

At The Deaf Agent, accessibility is at the heart of everything we do. We are committed to ensuring that our digital presence is inclusive and accessible to everyone, regardless of their hearing status or disability. We believe in a web that empowers all users and are dedicated to maintaining a website that follows the highest standards of digital inclusion.

Conformance Status

We strive to adhere to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA as our primary standard.

The Deaf Agent is currently partially conformant with WCAG 2.1 Level AA. While we work tirelessly to ensure full compliance, we acknowledge that digital content is dynamic and some third-party elements may occasionally present barriers.

Specific Accessibility Features

To support our community, we have implemented the following:

  • Video Accessibility: We aim to provide captions or transcriptions for video content to ensure it is accessible to the Deaf and Hard of Hearing community.

  • Visual Structure: We use a logical heading hierarchy (H1 through H4) and high-contrast color schemes to assist users with visual impairments.

  • Keyboard Navigability: Our site is designed to be fully navigable via keyboard, including visible focus indicators for all interactive elements.

  • Alternative Text: Meaningful images include descriptive alt text to ensure context is shared with screen reader users.

Known Limitations

We are constantly working to identify and resolve accessibility gaps.

  • Third-Party Integrations: Some external tools, such as real estate IDX feeds or social media plugins, are outside of our direct control and may not meet the same accessibility standards as our core site.

  • Legacy Media: Older video content may still be in the process of receiving updated captions.
